Karen (Kaz) founder and CEO of Bennu has 40 years of experience in community arts, focusing on mental health and wellbeing. She offers workshops and created the "Narrative Path" resource to help individuals and organisations reduce stress and promote positive mental health. Kaz has a passion to see children and young people shine.
Zenia serves as Bennu’s Community Wellbeing Coordinator, managing relationships with schools, organisations, institutions, and funders to ensure the successful implementation of Bennu’s wellbeing and therapeutic programs.
Paola advances Bennu’s mission through qualitative and quantitative research on art therapy and mental health, drawing on her expertise in medical anthropology, trauma studies, and health policy. Having witnessed the healing power of dance and theatre firsthand, she leverages real stories and data to advance Bennu’s work.
Chantelle, a Television Production student, is passionate about videography and visual storytelling. Inspired by Bennu’s focus on children’s mental health, she is excited to contribute her skills while advancing her career in media.
Juanita is a passionate videographer who helps capture the essence of Bennu’s mission through film. As a television production student with a strong interest in storytelling, she aims to amplify the voices and journeys of those connected to and supported by Bennu, reflecting the heart of its impact.
Joshua, with years of experience in digital strategies and design, is completing his marketing degree and eager to enhance Bennu’s online presence. His experience working with youth has shown him the impact of creative outlets, and he’s excited to help broadcast Bennu’s mission to a wider audience.
Trustees
Angela Moore, Head Teacher at St Antony’s Catholic Primary since 2013, became the first head of ethnic minority heritage in the school’s history. With 35 years in education, she transformed St Antony’s into a 'School of Success,' earning multiple accolades. Angela joined BENNU for its shared commitment to supporting vulnerable children and prioritising mental health and wellbeing.
Bonita Cattle is a Cultural Producer with over 25 years of experience in the dance and event industry, currently working as an Events Manager for Vision RCL. Passionate about helping others achieve their goals, she is inspired by Bennu’s support for children and young people, providing therapeutic intervention to help them stay in school and thrive during challenging times.
Anabel is deeply inspired by Bennu’s mission to support mental health and emotional wellbeing through creative arts therapy. As a Trustee, she plays an active role in strategic planning, advocacy, and fundraising, working to ensure the organisation’s continued growth and long-term sustainability. Her contributions help strengthen Bennu’s impact, enabling it to reach more individuals in need.
Neil Lawrence is an accredited coach and mindfulness practitioner with 30+ years of experience supporting marginalised youth. He holds a master’s in psychotherapy and works as a career coach and organisational consultant. A published writer, Neil advocates for workplace bullying victims and those with chronic conditions.
Olu is a personal trainer and boxing coach specializing in fitness programs for adults and children. He advocates for education and housing in Newham and contributed to the NHS’s health booklet, 5 Ways to a Healthier Life. Passionate about Bennu’s work, he is eager to support the organization’s growth, particularly in the area of mental health and wellbeing.
Nili Misra is a data and technology leader with 20+ years of experience across sectors, specialising in data strategy, AI, and governance. She has worked with NGOs on children’s rights and gender equality and now brings her expertise to Bennu as a trustee, supporting its impact and sustainability.
